Welcome (Home)
Welcome to the Home and Small Business docs. Here you will find what you need to connect your own Easee chargers to home automations, home energy management systems (HEMS) and your own projects.
What you can use
| Service | Use it to | Get started |
|---|---|---|
| Direct OCPP | Connect your charger straight to your own OCPP 1.6J server, such as a HEMS or your own back-office | OCPP Introduction (Home) |
| SignalR Streaming API | Receive observations from your chargers as they happen, such as when a car is plugged in, when it is charging, and the charge rate | SignalR Streaming API (Home) |
| REST API | Send commands to your charger, such as starting or stopping charging or changing the current | API References |
Which should I choose?
- Your system speaks OCPP? Use Direct OCPP, and connect your charger straight to your server.
- Building your own automation and don't have access to OCPP backend? Use the SignalR stream to receive observations and the REST API to send commands. The stream saves you from polling the API, which helps you stay within rate limits.
Want to controll someone elses chargers?!If you are a company that wants to control other people's chargers, you must use the operator Direct OCPP setup instead. Start with the Operator page.
Shared resources
Further down the menu you will find resources marked (Shared). These are used by both home and operator integrations, so they are not specific to Home and Small Business. Use them alongside the pages above for things like authentication, observation IDs and settings.
