Direct OCPP (Home)

Prerequisites

  • Please ensure that your charger is running on firmware version >= 344.
  • Your charger must be connected to WiFi before you apply an OCPP configuration, to avoid losing network connectivity.

What is direct OCPP?

With direct OCPP, your charger communicates straight with an OCPP 1.6J compatible server of your choice, for example a home energy management system or your own back-office.

Setup is more hands-on than using the Easee app or API, and Easee can offer a lower level of support because we have limited diagnostics and telemetry for chargers connected this way.

Who is this for?

This page is for home and small business users who want to connect their own charger to their own OCPP server.

If you are a company that wants to control other people's chargers, you must use the operator Direct OCPP setup instead. See OCPP Introduction and Commissioning for operators (CPOs).

What you need

  1. An Easee account. You can create one in the Easee app.
  2. Easee selected as the operator for your charging site.
  3. The URL of your OCPP server. If it uses a secure wss:// connection you will also need its CA certificate and domain name.
  4. Your charger's serial number.

How to provide feedback to us

If you have any questions or would like to provide us with some feedback on our OCPP implementation please contact us via Easee Connect or via our Support form.

Note: Easee Connect is the primary support channel for our initial native OCPP offering, as support is limited due to the reduced diagnostics and telemetry available.
